AN OLD BABYLONIAN HAEMATITE CYLINDER SEAL
CIRCA 1900-1700 B.C.
Showing a presentation scene with the armed warrior goddess Ishtar, one foot raised on the back of her lion animal attribute, quivers rising from her back, holding a double lion-headed mace in one hand, a weapon in the other, approaching her is a worshipper holding a kid as an animal offering, behind is a Lamma goddess with both hands raised in supplication; and a Kassite-period Babylonian red and white mottled stone cylinder seal with a six-line Babylonian cuneiform inscription naming the seal's owner, "Merciful is [the god] Ninshubur, who establishes his servant Sin-..., son of Adad-ilum", two fish and another filling motif in the field, circa 1400-1100 B.C.
