AN AMLASH BRONZE GROUP OF A COUPLE
EARLY 1ST MILLENNIUM B.C.
The naked male and female figures riding side-saddle on a horse which wears an elaborate harness, the figures each with prominent eyes and nose, 1¾ in. (4.5 cm.) high; a Near Eastern bronze finial, in the form of a bearded male figure with hands clasped in front, standing with legs together, wearing necklets, tiered headdress and broad belt, vertically pierced, 4 7/8 in. (12.4 cm.) long, circa 9th-8th Century B.C.; a bronze standing male idol, with tapering body, long neck and truncated arms, the head with prominent nose, ears and mouth with deeply recessed eyes for inlays (now missing), probably 2nd millennium B.C., 3 5/8 in. (9.2 cm.) high; a bronze double conjoined harness ring, the central joining strut with moufflon head protome with curving horns, early 1st millennium B.C., 2 5/8 in. (6.5 cm.) high; a Luristan bronze harness ring with two outward facing ram head protomes, 1 3/8 in. (3.5 cm.); and another bronze ring with confronting lion heads in relief, 1 5/8 in. (4.6 cm.) diam., both early 1st millennium B.C. (6)
