Each upholstered in floral patterned cloth, with a cartouche shaped back, part padded arms with a serpentine front rail centred by floral decoration on floral headed, channelled cabriole legs, each with batten carrying holes to the underside of the seat rails, one stamped 'J.F.M. LANGON' and 'JME' twice, numbered in ink 'No.14' and in pencil '4', one stamped 'B.D.CHARDON' and 'JME', one stamped indistinctly 'P.C.TURCOT', 'P.C' and 'JME' twice, numbered in ink '2', another stamped 'P.C.TURCOT' and 'JME' repeatedly, numbered in ink 'No.1' and '3' three times, one stamped 'N.T. PORROT' and 'JME' twice, numbered in ink 'No. 13', numbered in pencil 'No.1' and '5879', stamped with a '*', one numbered in ink 'No.6' and 'No.3' in pencil, one numbered in ink 'No.8' and 'No.2' and '5879' in pencil, one numbered in ink 'No.3', losses to the gilding, regilded (8)

The cross struts to the underside of each seat is an English 18th and early 19th century form of chair construction. This would indicate that these chairs had, at some stage during this period, been in an English workshop to strengthen the joints.
