An ivory netsuke of a dog on a shell
19th Century
carved crouching on a shell with its mouth slightly open revealing the teeth -- 1 3/8in. (3.5cm.) wide; and a boar's tusk netsuke, the side carved with an owl, horn inlaid eyes, nose and claws, incised Doraku signature to reverse -- 2¼in. (5.7cm.) high, (age cracks and flaws).
