TWO COPPER-MOUNTED SOUTH STAFFORDSHIRE ENAMEL SNUFF BOXES
Circa 1770
Both pink, the cover of the first printed in black and enriched in colors with a shepherd and shepherdess in a landscape, 2 5/8in. (6.7cm.) long; the second smaller and with a ruin and a village church in a landscape reserved within gilt foliate scrolls on the pink ground, 1 5/8in. (4.1cm.) long; together with a copper-mounted circular box in the style of Staffordshire 18th century examples, likely Samson, painted with peasants at rest in a landscape, reserved within white foliate scrolls on the yellow ground further enriched with white diaper pattern, 3½in. (8.9cm.) diameter (3)
