A VICTORIAN PARQUETRY AND BURR-WALNUT WRITING BOX ON LATER STAND
The writing box, second half 19th century
The rectangular case inlaid with checker, chevron and castellated parquetry and the top with central inlaid brass plaque, opening to a slanted green baize writing surface over two wells, a range of smaller wells along one side enclosing a range of secret drawers, inscribed in black ink BJC 897.27, the later stand with molded square legs, hinges replaced, interior lacking one lid
