The ground of each teabowl reserved with two vignettes, one side of each with gallants and companions and figures promenading before fortifications, the other sides with merchants and figures on horseback on the banks of estuaries, within gilt band quatrefoil cartouches, the interiors with vignettes within paired iron-red concentric circles, the saucers with estuary scenes, one with merchants at various pursuits, the other with boating figures by buildings at the foot of cliffs, within gilt quatrefoil cartouches edged with puce sgraffito panels and scrolls, the reverses yellow ground, gilt band rims
