Both painted in ice-blue, the one emblematic of January as a Janus figure and holding a medallion of a nymph pouring water into a stream; the other emblematic of December as a man blowing the flames in his brazier, wearing an ermined-lined hat and cloak enriched with yellow and brown enamel, on scroll-moulded mound bases enriched with gilding
