with bisque shoulder-head, closed mouth, painted eyes, hair, beard and moustache, in original tunic with braid, belt and yellow breeches, seated on red metal tricycle with tinplate motor-cover, the going-barrel movement causing the tricycle to move forwards from left to right --11in. (28cm.) long, (paint loss and solder repairs to motor-cover), the head probably by Gaulthier, circa 1870
