An early 19th century multi-gem necklace,
composed of blue, yellow and pink topaz, pink foiled topaz, foiled garnet, chrysoberyl and aquamarine, the central five stone section suspending a single stone drop, with multi-chain connections to the triple stone section, and further multi-chain connections to the single stone clasp, each claw setting with bead decoration; and two later adapted brooches each formed from three stones with matching settings to the necklace.

Lot Essay

According to the vendor's family the necklace and brooches (one subsequently formed from a single earring) were wedding presents given by the daughters of George III to Suzanne Marie Moula. Madamoiselle Moula, who married Captain Allen Cooper of the East India Co., was French Governess to the King's daughters from 1779 to about 1786.
