20 parts in 19, 8o (220 x 140 mm). Half-title. Engraved frontispiece, additional title and 38 plates by Hablot K. Browne (some with offsetting or other light stains). Original blue-green pictorial printed wrappers (some spines repaired, some small stains, a few edges with short tears and part 1 with edge restored); red morocco pull-off case.
FIRST EDITION IN ORIGINAL PARTS, first issue of parts 11 and 14, with "Capatin" in last line of pg. 324 and "if" omitted from line 9, pg. 426, but pg. 431 numbered and 8-line errata in final part. The Dombey & Son Advertiser present in all, as well as most other advertisements, and the errata in part 5 (the inside front wrapper of part 4 lacking ad). Hatton & Cleaver, pp. 225-250.
