Paris, with the discharge mark of Henry Clavel 1782-1789, the glass intaglio indistinctly signed, circa 1805-1810
Circular glass box with gold-covered sides, the independent lid set with an oval slightly raised glass plaque cast with an intaglio portrait bust of Emperor Napoleon I (1769-1821) in profile to the left, wearing the costume of a First Consul, within a tortoiseshell mount framed by a circular translucent blue enamelled guilloché gold border, plain gold rims with reeded borders
