master 'DMC' a crown above, marked, Geneva, circa 1780, later struck with two Parisian post-1838 restricted warranty marks for gold
Oval box, the cover, sides and base chased in four-colour gold with trophies of love, music, harvest and gardening hung from ribbons within oval matted gold reserves framed by laurel, all ovolos flanked by similar or foliate trophies chased on burnished gold, the matted gold borders chased with wavy reeded ribbons intertwined with berried and foliate bands
