Octagonal dark green serpentine box with bevelled rims, the lid applied with an oval enamel miniature depicting Empress Josephine of France (1763-1814) facing right in orange dress tied with a blue bow under her breast, wearing rich pearl jewellery, purple curtain and column background, within an old-mine and rose cut diamond border surmounted by a crown set with green and red stones and similar diamonds, a similarly jewelled pierced gold stylized lotus flower below, similarly adorned leaf thumbpiece, the inside gold-lined
