by Simon-Achille Léger (fl. 1815-1826), struck with his second mark of 1820-1826, with the excise and third standard marks for gold, Paris 1819-1838, and the Parisian post-Revolutionary unofficial standard mark for 18-carat gold
Cushion-shaped rectangular box of shuttle-shaped section, the lid and base centred with rectangular panels engine-turned with a peacock's feather scalework pattern, the convex curved four sides stamped with flower vases and scrolling foliage on a matted ground, the left and right hand sides with vertical matted bands stamped with foliate scrolls, the raised thumbpiece engraved with stylized leaves
