Good appearance. Slightly corroded capsule. Bin-soiled label. Level top-shoulder
Tasting note: Dark garnet color and classic sweet, spicy, tobacco, coffee, and blackcurrant aromas are inticing. The wine still has powerful tannin in the finish, which contributes to the dry, austere character this example has also exhibited. One of the more intellectually styled Moutons, the 1966 is a classic example of the vintage, aswell as of the Château's Cabernet Sauvignon-dominated style. Anticipated maturity; now to 2008.
