Penfolds Bin 90A Cabernet/Shiraz--Vintage 1990 South Australia The Bin 90A from Penfolds is part of the Special Bin program set up by Grange creator Max Schubert in the early 1960's. The purpose behind these releases is to isolate certain outstanding parcels of fruit for special attention. Production is usucally around the 1000 case mark and this is only the 3rd release of this blend since it's inception in 1962. Tatsted 10/2000. Very deep crimson color; warm red currant aromas. The palate dislays lots of big sweet ripe, cassis red & black currant fruit, plenty of mixed spices with hints of prune. Great texture and nice length. Great now, but will go on for many years. DW
