"Another great wine. Consistently fine. One of Haut-Brion's best-ever vintages, 21 excellent notes, just one poor bottle. It seems to have
regained depth of colour with age, again almost opaque but with
mature amber rim. On nose and palate, it is different from its Médoc peers. More earthy, but not in a clodhopping way, and with a
tobacco-like element to its taste. The bouquet variously described as gentle and fragrant, sweet vanilla and chocolate, warm, spicy,
complete- and always remarkably good. Pretty full-bodied, yet velvety with loads of sweetening and enriching alcohol, its tannin masked by richness and extract. Great length, wonderful aftertaste." GVWB
