A ROMAN BRONZE FIGURE OF A GODDESS
Circa 1st Century B.C.
Perhaps Aphrodite, standing with her right knee bent, wearing a peplos under a himation that drapes over her left shoulder, her left arm bent at the elbow, the now-missing hand perhaps once holding a mirror, her right arm bent and raised to her head with her open palm facing out, her head lowered and turned to her left, her hair pulled into a chignon at the nape of her neck and topped with a crescentic diadem that is recessed, perhaps for inlay, her ears perforated for now-missing earrings
3 3/8 in. (8.6 cm) high
