TWO ROMAN BRONZE OIL LAMPS AND A LAMP COVER
Circa 1st-2nd Century A.D.
Including a miniature lamp in the form of a grotesque head, the elongated face with short curly hair, the mouth serving as the nozzle; a lamp in the form of a hooded and cloaked figure, his exaggerated phallus serving as the nozzle, standing on thin cylindrical legs (the left missing), a projecting hinge at the back of his head for the now-missing lid; and a lamp cover, disk-shaped with a loop for attachment, surmounted by a satyr mask with curly hair tied in a thick fillet with leaves and berries
