A ROMAN MARBLE JANIFORM HERM
Circa 2nd Century A.D.
Both sides depicting Hermes, one youthful, the other older, the youth with thick lidded eyes, the inner canthi drilled, under a heavy brow, the small mouth drilled at the corners, the chin prominent, the drilled tightly-curled hair bound in a diadem, the older with similar eyes, the small mouth with fleshy lips slightly parted, the long mustache and beard with drilled symmetrical curls, the hair bound in a diadem, the ties of both falling to the shoulders
