A SUMERIAN HAEMATITE CYLINDER SEAL
Third Dynasty of Ur, 2112-2004 B.C.
Depicting a presentation scene with a divine king seated on a padded stool to the right, wearing a hat with a deep brim and a long fringed robe with one shoulder exposed, holding a small cup in his right hand, with three standing figures facing him, the first a Lama goddess in a horned tiara and a long flounced robe, with one hand raised and the other gripping the wrist of the male worshipper behind her, the worshipper bare-headed, wearing a long fringed robe, raising one hand, behind him a second Lama goddess also in a horned tiara and long flounced robe, standing with both hands raised, a combined lunar crescent and solar disk in the sky, the terminal an eight-line inscription in two columns in Sumerian cuneiform reading "Ibbi-Sîn, god of his land, mighty king, king of Ur, king of the four world regions, Dan-i[li], scribe, [your] servant"
