We are very grateful to Patricia Reed for her assistance in preparing this catalogue entry.

In Lilian Browse's catalogue raisonné the present work is recorded as being painted circa 1900 although it is difficult to confirm the location of the view. The painting shows two children playing in front of a white shop.
