Lot Essay

This composition was not engraved, though two other general views of the temple were included in Egypt and Nubia, vol. I, p. 37, and vol. II, pl. 32. The great temple of Amon at Karnak, Thebes, was begun under the 18th Dynasty. The main buildings seen today were built under the 19th Dynasty, the majority by Ramesses II.
