Sickelmores' Select Views of Brighton. Brighton: C. & R. Sickelmore, [c.1827]. Oblong 2° (320 x 500mm.). Printed leaf of explanation within a wide engraved border and 9 fine hand-coloured aquatint plates. Contemporary cloth-backed yellow printed wrappers within the same engraved border as on the explanation leaf, contained with in a blue levant morocco folding case by Morrell, lined with watered silk.
A variant of the first edition (the second appeared about 3 years later and with an extra plate) with the front wrapper reading 'Sickelmores'/Descriptive/Views of Brighton' (followed by an ornament and the imprint). None of the plates are watermarked. cf. Abbey Scenery 63; Brunet IV, 667 (note).
