Atlas Céleste ... approuve par l'Académie Royale des Sciences ... Seconde édition. Par M. J. Fortin, Paris: F.G. Deschamps, 1776. 4° (220 x 151mm.). 30 double-page engraved celestial charts (text leaves lightly spotted). Contemporary mottled calf, flat spine gilt. Provenance: J. B. A. Demené (ownership inscription dated 1794).

The first edition of Flamsteed's celestial atlas to be published in France. It was edited by Le Monnier, containing observations by Pasumot and the addition of the southern planisphere by La Caille. Pasted to an endpaper is the ticket of the bookseller Desnos. Brunet II, 1280; Lalande 553.
