Lot Essay

The first commercially produced Leica from 1925. The Leica Anastigmat camera was introduced from serial number 131 to approximately number 250-300. Lager, for example, cites number 267. Many examples were upgraded by the factory at various stages. Lager (p. 17) shows number 146 with replaced shutter speed dial and release button which this example also exhibits.
