A German brass and copper mounted marriage casket
Probably Nuremberg, 17th Century
Rectangular, on four ball feet, with pierced engraved shaped copper straps, engraved brass mounts, the front side engraved with scenes representing winter and autumn, the backside with spring and summer, one short side with a putto sitting on a whale the other side with a putto playing a flute, the base engraved with a man sitting on a horse holding a sword in his right hands, the hinged cover with two couples, hinged curved knobbed handle (loose), key hole concealed by strap, lock in cover missing
