Meiji Period
with moulded mask handles and foliate tripod feet, painted and gilt with shaped panels of figures in a boat approaching a walled pavilion in a mountainous landscape and birds in flight above ducks swimming in a pond amongst flowers and grasses, all on a dark blue ground reserved with flowerheads and honeycomb motifs -- 4¼in. (10.8cm.) high, signed, (cover missing, chip to the tip of one foot).
