A Satsuma Chaire and Another
Edo Period (17th Century)
The Satsuma chaire with almost straight sides, slightly indented on one side, a crisply cut shoulder and a very short neck, the dark brown and black glaze falling unevenly; the other with narrowing sides, an irregular shoulder and a short neck with a slightly everted lip, the almost black glaze falling to a line near the base
