Late Kamakura Period (Dated 1332)
Of turned and assembled wood with curved sides, resting on a short foot-ring with three bracket feet, the red lacquer worn away in places revealing the black lacquer beneath, the interior further worn from prolonged use, some old cracks and repairs, inscribed on the underside in red lacquer on a black ground Genko ninen junigatsu Kumedera [The twelfth month of the second year of Genko (1332)], the Kumedera temple], some old repairs, with wooden storage box
