Choson Period (19th Century)
The lacquer cabinet with hinged doors and symmetrically arranged drawers of different sizes, inlaid with green and red tinted rayskin, tortoiseshell and gold wire, some of it twisted, the exterior of the doors decorated with symmetrically arranged phoenixes, the interior with Yin-yang symbols, the sides with spreading lotus scrolls, the top with a dragon and a lion, the stand similarly decorated, engraved fittings, some old wear and minor damage
26 3/8 x 23 1/8 x 16½in. (67 x 59 x 42cm.)
