Circa 1760, gold anchor mark
En suite to the preceding and painted in the atelier of James Giles in green camaieu and black with a romantic mountainous wooded landscape, with a church tower and buildings to the right and with birds in flight in the cloudy sky above, the rim and footrim with gilt dentil ornament
9 3/8 in. (23.8 cm.) diam.
Provenance
Almost certainly purchased by Thomas, 2nd Marquess of Bath (1765-1837), Longleat, Wiltshire and by descent at Longleat.
