A Sevres (hard paste) flared two-handled beaker and stand (gobelet a deux anses et soucoupe)
1791, gilt crowned interlaced Ls enclosing date letters 00 and painter's mark VT. and LF for André-Joseph La France (active 1776-1803, 1813-28), the beaker incised na and the stand Siort
The beaker painted with two oval panels of cows with sheep in wooded landscape vignettes within puce, blue and gilt surrounds, divided by waisted rectangular panels of foliage, the stand with a central puce and yellow flowerhead with radiating grasses, the border with three oval circular oval medallions of cows, sheep and a goat, divided by three wedge-shaped medallions of vases of pink roses flanked by stylised foliage, all on a rich puce and yellow-edged diaper-pattern ground with puce flowerheads and foliage within broad gilt band rims (two small hairline cracks to rim of beaker, approx 1 in 21.5 cm. long)
