A William IV silver-gilt inkstand
Mark of John Bridge, London, 1832, the liners, mark of William Bateman, London, 1835
Shaped oblong, on four foliate feet, the border cast and chased with scrolls and foliage, applied with two small plaques engraved with the monogram IS, the centre with two detachable ink-pots and a taperstick, the ink-pots each vase-shaped and chased with acanthus leaves, the covers each with a similar border on a textured ground, with detachable writing putto finial, each with silver-gilt mounted cut-glass liner, the circular taperstick formed as a convuvulus flower, the stem and handle with conforming foliage, with detachable conical snuffer of flaming torch form, the drip-pan engraved with a crest, marked on base of stand, bases, covers, finials, wing-nuts, and liner bezels of ink-pots, and stand, base, vine, and extinguisher

The crest is that of Beriah Botfield, Esq. (1807-1863)
