NELSON'S VISIT TO WALES VIA GLOUCESTER 1802
Nelson's party, including Sir William and Lady Hamilton, arrive at Gloucester on Saturday (24th July) and he was soon recognised by the multitude. At Merthyr-Tidvil an evening accident wounds three people while at Haverfordwest they partake of a public breakfast at Mr Foley's [brother of Captain Thomas Foley]. Then on to Carmarthen. Short reports totalling 12cm. in all of column space in 4 complete issues of: THE TIMES dated 31 July, 11, 13 and 20 August 1802; Also The Gardeners have given themselves some classical credit in inoculating their flowers with the name of Nelson -- 7cm. of column space in the above TIMES of 20 August 1802 (4)
