Provenance

Robin Dye, Printers, Hackney. This proof was found by a family member in one of the printer's proof books after the firm closed in 1975.

Special notice

No VAT will be charged on the hammer price, but VAT at 17.5% will be added to the buyer's premium which is invoiced on a VAT inclusive basis.

Lot Essay

This is the printer's proof copy for this rare invitation, the last example of which was offered as lot 235 in the 1st November 2001 Maritime Sale (9240) held in these rooms; the lighter ink colouring allows for far greater detail than with the black ink finally used.
