incised on both sides with fine copper plate script reading: Coast of Chilli DECEMBER 24. 1821 Ship Harriet of London SOUTHSEAMAN Capt. James Jones and the reverse with the poem: In me behold a Sperm Whales Tooth Quite Large & in the prime of youth When capt Jones, and the Harriet's Crew One Christmas Eve in their Boats di go And Kill'd this Whale & tow'd him Alongside And took me out of his mouth so wide.
