A WELL-PRESENTED WATERLINE MODEL OF AN 18TH CENTURY ROYAL NAVY 44-GUN FRIGATE
modelled by J.A. Brown with bound masts, yards, full suit of stitched linen sails with reefing points, streamers, standing and running rigging with blocks, carved lion figurehead, catheads, anchors with bound wooden stocks, bits, belaying rails and pins, gratings, stove pipe, ship's bell, well-deck with cannons in carriages, capstan, deck rings, eight-spoke helm aft cabins and other details. The hull, with open gun ports and guns, glazed stern and quarter galleries and rudder is finished in ochre and black, the inner bulwarks Venetian red outer with carved giltwork, and set in a moulded green painted seascape with a pilot cutter off the port bow, with plexi-glass cover. Overall measurements -- 49 x 40in. (124.5 x 101.5cm.)
