the hull moulded from jesmonite and with head rails, gun ports, boarding steps, chain plates, stern and quarter galleries and simulated planking, is finished in blue, yellow, black and 'copper' and mounted on a pine board with notes on reverse -- 17 x 6½in. (43 x 16.5cm.)

Lot Essay

The Grand Turk is a recent vessel built in Turkey to the plans of the original H.M.S. Indefatigable of 1794 and has reprised her spirit appearing as the affectionatley known 'Indie' in the recent Hornblower television series.
