Oval and on four ball feet, pierced with anthemion, scroll and cinquefoil ornament, the centre engraved with a coat-of-arms with baron's coronet above, marked on reverse

The arms are those of the Earls of Galloway quartering Abernethy, Wishart and Stewart, impaling the arms of King Charles II quartering Scott, for Archibald, 1st Baron Douglas (1748-1827) and his second wife Frances (1750-1817), posthumous daughter of Francis, Earl of Dalkeith (1720-1751), whom he married in 1783.
