Mark of John Robertson and David Darling, Newcastle, 1796
Pear-shaped, on pedestal foot, with reeded borders, the wooden scroll handle with silver scroll upper terminal and lozenge-shaped lower terminal, with scroll spout, the hinged rising domed cover with urn finial, the body bright-cut engraved to each side with a shield-shaped cartouche below a ribbon-tied floral garland and above a pair of crossed ribbon-tied ferns, the cartouche engraved to one side with a crest, to the other with the monogram G, the upper body bright-cut engraved with a scrolling foliate border, the foot and cover with a border of demi-paterae and foliage, marked under base and on cover bezel
