The amber-glazed horse naturalistically modelled standing foursquare on a rectangular base, the head turning slightly to one side, the rider unusually holding a young recumbent feline before her waist and wearing a long green-glazed coat open at the chest, her unglazed head finely detailed with pigmented eyes and lips, some restoration

It is rare to find an equestrian figure of this size holding an animal. Compare the example sold in New York, 13th March, 1975, lot 212 and the rider holding a greyhound in his outstretched arms sold 7th February, 1974, lot 162.
