A RARE FAMILLE ROSE 'DAVID AND BATHESHEBA' PLATE
Circa 1740
Enamelled en camaïeu rose with a central scene depicting David on a terrace supported by tall columns looking down on the naked figure of Bathesheba reclining beside her pool whilst two maidens attend to her, one seated to her side and the other fastening a sandal on her extended right foot, all under the shade of a tree, below a du Paquier style rococo border with four peacocks at the compass points, two rim frit chips
9 in. (23 cm.) diam.
