Lot Essay

Another identical elephant collected by Fechtner in 1911 and now in the Museum für Völkerkunde, Berlin, is illustrated by Krieger, K., Westafrikanische Plastik III, Berlin, 1969, Pl.105. A chameleon of similar form was collected in Bagam by Glaunig in 1908.
