Maker's mark EH in rectangle, Germany, 20th Century, also struck STERLING 925; mark second jug possibly of John Figg, London, 1874
The first of baluster form with silver handle and upper part, shaped spout with strainer, hinged cover with thumbpiece and an inner bottle with cover, the second baluster jug with a silver-gilt band around the neck, double scroll handle engraved with grapes and vines, large upper border decorated with grapes and vines enclosing a satyr's head, a mask spout, hinged cover with similar decoration and a man sitting on a wine barrel with his hands up, marked on mounts
