The dial with outer twice XII Roman chapter ring with later blued steel hand, the inner concentric rings indicating the months and their relevant signs, an inner concentric revolving ring engraved to the outer edge with the months and their relevant number of days and within that various engraved depictions of the four seasons with their names engraved in the centre, the movement with circular gilt plates and four columnar pillars riveted to the top plate and pinned to the back plate, the going train with brass spring barrel with steel cap, gut fusee, the second and third wheels with unusual Egyptian-pierced crossings, verge escapement with restored steel balance and pinned balance cock, the calendrical barrel visible through an arched door in the case band, held between the plates and engraved with the days of the week and their deities within an arched palisade and receiving indirect drive from the steel motion work, the spherical rolling moon receiving impulse from the motion work to a steel star wheel engraved with the age of the moon visible through an aperture in the dial

The present clock is of particularly high quality and has some unusual features, not least the interesting spherical revolving moon at the edge of the dial. In addition there is a second door in the side of the case opening to reveal a drum which revolves once a week and is engraved with figures symbolising the days of the week (Deities).
The gilding on the case appears to have survived well and the engraving is of particularly good quality. The under dial gear work for the moon phase is noteworthy as being of higher than average quality.
