A very modern BV in the sense that the power of the vintage really transformed BV's profile in the minds of those new to collecting wine. Prior to this vintage, during the late eighties and early nineties, it can be said that BV was bit of an underperformer, in price as well as quality. 1994 became the benchmark vintage that BV yearned for. BV's clonal selection experiments were well underway during this vintage and it is perhaps because of the new infusion of quality vines BV was able to return to the upper echelon of Napa estates. ST
