A sampler by Martha Gill aged 9 years dated 1753, worked in coloured silks on a linen ground, with a central Adam and Eve beneath a house and above a fruiting branch, the field scattered with figures, including a woman carrying pails on a yoke--17¾ x 9¼in. (45 x 23.5cm.)
