with a moulded twin plank top and three frieze drawers above a wavy pierced apron, on cabriole legs with pointed pad feet, front legs spliced, previously with a plate rack -- 83½in. (212cm.) wide, 32½in. (83cm.) high, 21in. (54cm.) deep

Lot Essay

The pierced frieze of this dresser is strongly indicative of a Welsh origin, though the use of a cabriole leg brings a West Midlands influence to bear. It's origins therefore may be in the Welsh Borders.
